Life to Eagle

Written by Bob Techentin on . Posted in Advancement

Once a Scout earns the rank of Life, he is well on the way to achieving the rank of Eagle.

There are several similarities between Eagle, Life, and Star ranks.  Each requires that the Scout be active in the Troop, demonstrate Scout Spirit, earn merit badges, serve in a leadership position, perform service, have a Scoutmaster conference, and pass a board of review.   But there are some differences.  For the Eagle rank, for example, the Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges, including all of those required to earn the Eagle rank.

One of the most substantial difference between Eagle and the other ranks is that the Scout must perform an Eagle service project.
